Recount Writing-I went to the park

I went to the park.

On Saturday afternoon my family and I went to the park in Kaikohe.

I felt fantastic because I like playing at the park.

When we got to the park we saw lots of people on the playground. I said, “Hmmm what should I play first?”

The first thing I did at the park was to play on the swing I felt pumped.

Next I went on the slide. It was going fast because it was slippery. I felt like I was going like the Flash. I felt like that I was a horse going fast running around. Then I felt tired so I went to get a drink of water. I went to get one and then I went back on the monkey bars. I said, “Mum, Dad, Nana, Papa, look at me. I can do monkey bars.”

After that I went to get my bike. I rode the bike  around. It was fun and then I went get my bike again. I went down the hole. It felt like I was going down like an airplane. I was going fast as. This was the best day ever. Thank you Mum, Dad, Nana, and Papa, for taking me to the park.

Recount Writing-At my brother's birthday.

I am learning to add details so my readers will understand my story.

At my brother’s birthday.

On Saturday afternoon my family and I went to Rainbows End for my brothers birthday. Before we went we made a cake. It was a  banana cake.

It took about 4 hours to travel to Rainbows End from Kaikohe. When we got to Rainbows End it was full of people.

First all of us went on the rollercoaster. It was scary and it was full.

After our ride on the rollercoaster all of us were hungry so we went to eat. We had an ice cream and some hot dogs. They were yum.  After that we had my brother’s birthday cake. It was delicious.

Next me and my brother went on the merry go round. It was going fast as. It was the scariest ride. Then me and dad went on the on the rollercoaster again. It going as fast as a rocket. I enjoyed the ride. It was amazing.

At the end of the day we were feeling tired. So we got in our car and we dorve home. I went off to sleep in the van.        

Recount Writing-At the Pools

At the pools   

On Saturday I went to the pools in Whangarei with my whole family.

When we got there I got into my swimming togs.

Next we went into the pools. It was cold as ice. I did a bomb and my brother Josh gave me a fright when I came up out of the pool. He tried to jump on me but missed me and he splashed me all over with water. He laughed at me.

I laughed too. I had great fun.

After that it was lunch time. We had egg sandwiches. It was yum and then we had a drink.

After lunch we went in the spa pool at the Whangarei pools. It was warm. Me and my three brothers and my mum and dad got hot. Then we went into the cold pool for 10 minutes. Later on my dad said it was home time.

Then we had a shower and my mum changed baby Kaharau’s nappy. She put baby Kaharau in the shower with my dad. All of us jumped out of the shower and then my mum had a shower. Kaharau was hungry so my mum jumped out of the shower and gave Kaharau a kai.

That was the end of our amazing day at the Whangarei wave pools. We were all tired but we enjoyed our day.

Recount Writing - At the Tangi

At the tangi

Yesterday me and my whole family had a tangi in Kaeo for my Aunty Tristen. It was sad because she died.  

We buried Aunty Tristen in a grave.To get to the place where we buried her we had to walk up a big as hill. Then we walked down the hill and then we were there. What a long walk. We buried my aunty in the grave. I walked around to put some dirt in the grave. It was sad.

Then we went back to have lunch. It was yum and I was hungry after my big long walk. Later on me and my two brothers Josh and Jamian played rugby. We played against our Kaeo cousins. They were easy. It was three on four. We won. It was fun.

After dinner me, my three brothers and my mum and dad and nana and papa went to Takou Bay.
